Flat-Fee Divorce & Child-Custody Actions

All of our flat-fee divorce and custody packages are for limited legal representation, whereby we assist you with the completion of necessary pleadings and documents in your legal proceeding, but do not formally appear as your counsel on the pleadings or in the formal proceedings. Under this type of limited-representation arrangement, we will not appear in Court, mediation, settlement conferences, or other legal proceedings in your action. We will also not interact with the other parties, counsel or the Court in the capacity as your counsel. Our representation is strictly limited to assisting you with the processing of pleadings and documents and facilitating your ability to handle your own divorce as a “self-represented” party, appearing in Court without counsel, but with the benefit of our assistance and consultations off of the record.

Flat-Fee Limited Representation FAQs

What Does It Mean To Have Limited Representation?

If someone has limited representation, it means that they have an attorney helping to assist them in their case, but who is not appearing on their behalf. Essentially, the attorney is working in the background to assist the individual with their case, but it not handling their whole case. It is limited representation because there is a limit on what the attorney is doing and the scope of what the attorney is doing for the individual is narrow.

How Does Limited Representation Vary From Traditional Representation?

In a traditional representation arrangement, the attorney handles all aspects of the client’s case for them from start to finish. The attorney drafts documents, appears in court, and corresponds with other parties in the case on behalf of the client. In a limited representation arrangement, the attorney only does certain things for the individual. The scope of the attorney’s representation is specified in the agreement and does not extend past the scope that is specified. For instance, the attorney may only draft documents for the individual, only help the person respond to a particular letter or document in the case, or appear in court on a one-time basis. The scope of representation is determined between the individual and the attorney.

Does Adams Legal Group, PLLC Offer Limited Representation?
